Choir of Man

Please find all information and resources needed for the Choir of Man performance on Tuesday 23rd June.

Please ensure that you read the information below if you are attending the Choir of Man:

Dress Code - LMTC merch! (DTC members you can choose whether to wear DTC or LMTC tops)

Timings for the Day - there is a rehearsal with the Musical Director of the show, starting at 6.40pm in the theatre.

Tickets - Tickets will be distributed at rehearsal. If you wish to sit with someone please make sure you collect the tickets for the full group at once. Once we have handed out tickets we will not be able to exchange seats or rearrange where people are sitting.

Firstly, congratulations on securing your spot for performing at the Choir of Man on Tuesday 23rd June! This is a really exciting opportunity for our choir. Please note, if you have been successful, you will have heard from us by now, and this is not a whole choir event.

Your Tickets will be distributed at rehearsal (once they arrive in the post!). The only way we can distribute in a way where you sit next to your friends is if you come and collect them at exactly the same time so please organise this within your group. Once we have handed out the tickets we will not be able to redistribute as it will be a logistical nightmare. You do not need to be sat in your voice parts.

Please ensure that you watch the video below from the conductor of the choir in its entirety. It contains important information on the materials, how the song will be conducted and counted, pronunciation and dynamics in the performance and will show you what to expect.

We would like you to learn the following parts where possible:

If you are an LMTC soprano, learn the soprano part in the music.

If you are an LMTC mezzo, learn the soprano part in the music.

If you are an LMTC alto, learn the alto part in the music.

If you are an LMTC tenor, learn the tenor part in the music.

If you are an LMTC bass, learn the bass part in the music.

Some of the notes in the score may look very high, but please note that the music is all written in tenor clef/octave treble clef (see the small 8 underneath the treble clef), so the notes look high but are actually lower. I believe the conductor explains this in his video.

Please ensure that you listen to the guide vocals for your part.

All guide vocals and the sheet music can be found just underneath the video.

Rehearsal

You are invited to a Daytime Choir rehearsal on Wednesday, 10th June to practise the song. The session will be from 2pm-4pm at Bramley Trinity Methodist Church (same venue as LMTC). This is not compulsory and there is no expectation for you to take time off work and attend, but if you wanted to come and practice in a big group before the day this is your opportunity (if you can make it).

Daytime Choir members will have already learnt the song in rehearsals. LMTC members - please note that you will need to have learnt the parts from the materials below prior to this rehearsal in your own time. We will not be learning parts, but will be using the opportunity to run through the song and tidy it, and to have a chance to sing it through together.

Thanks all - this is a really exciting opportunity and we can't wait to have you represent us! Enjoy!
