WHO ARE WE?
Leeds Musical Theatre Choir is a choir based in the heart of Leeds that specialises in teaching you how to sing in a choir whilst performing songs from everyone's favourite musicals from stage and screen. Whilst the choir has high standards and great pride in the quality of the sound it makes it welcomes new members regardless of their musical experience. At Leeds Musical Theatre Choir you will learn how to sing using proper technique, read sheet music and sing as part of a huge ensemble whilst meeting lots of like minded people.
The choir was founded by, 'award winning' musical director and arranger, Robert Sanders (BA Hons Music) & Sophie Massa (BA Hons Musical Theatre, PGCE) in 2020, opening it's doors to the public in February 2022. Both Robert and Sophie have many years of experience working in education and Musical Theatre.
Despite being a relatively 'new' choir LMTC has grown in size and now has over 300 members. In its first year LMTC performed 3 sell out performances at Yeadon Town Hall and in 2023 they went on to perform hugely successful concerts at the spectacular Huddersfield Town Hall & St George's Hall (Bradford).
In 2024 the choir will return these venues for another 2 sensational concerts in June and Decmeber where they will be showcasing all the music they have learnt throughout the year.

Robert Massa -Sanders

Musical Director & Founder
Robert Sanders is an award-winning Musical Director, Educator, Composer and Arranger based in Leeds.
Robert has extensive experience working as a vocal coach across West Yorkshire, teaching for various Theatre Groups, Rocksteady Music School and Stagecoach Theatre School.
He founded the Leeds Musical Theatre Choir in 2020. Since then Leeds Musical Theatre has gone on to have over 100,000 views on its videos on Facebook, as well as perform at West End and Friends!
Robert has over 12 years experience in professional theatre having worked across the world for the Walt Disney Company. He has had 3 original musicals commissioned and performed in Yorkshire and at the Edinburgh Fringe festival.
Sophie Massa - Sanders

Sophie Massa is an award winning performer and an invaluable part of Leeds Musical Theatre Choir.
Sophie graduated from Leeds University with a 1st class honours degree in Musical Theatre. Sophie is also qualified teacher, completing her PGCE in 2020.
She has since gone on to perform all over the world as a performer. Locally she has performed countless times in a variety of roles. Roxy Heart in Chicago, Peter Pan in Peter Pan, Cinderella in Cinderella as well as being cast in various other shows. She has also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 3 shows as well as performing on Walt Disney Cruise Line for 3 years.
